Phi Mu has been a tremendous supporter of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) for 27 years—nearly the entire length of time CMN Hospitals has existed. Since 1983, CMN Hospitals has raised more than $5 billion for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada. Each hospital uses the funds where they are needed most. Over the years, donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible. Sixty-two children enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for treatment every minute — that’s one child every second. Some are battling cancer. Some are suffering from a traumatic injury. Others require constant care because they were born too early, or with a genetic disease. Regardless of why the kids are there, CMN Hospitals always have their doors open, thanks to donors and volunteers alike.
Since its partnership began, Phi Mu chapters across the US have raised over $10 million for the hospitals treating kids in their local communities. Whether Phi Mu members are fundraising as a chapter, volunteering at their local hospital, or participating in a Dance Marathon, the support has had an incredible impact on kids treated in their area. Of the over $5 billion CMN Hospitals has raised, most of it has been brought in one dollar at a time. Because of the support of Phi Mu women across the country, kids are able to receive the treatment they need and get back to what’s important—being a kid.
Every city, state, child, and family is vastly different; so are our hospitals’ needs.
