Caroline LawheadName: Caroline Lawhead
Chapter: Beta Upsilon
Position: Children’s Hospital of UPMC in Pittsburgh
CMN Hospital: Researcher for congenial heart disease

“I chose to work for a CMN Hospital because I love the environment and I can feel the passion for care from the doctors, nurses, and other essential staff members. Some of my daily tasks include caring for my lab mice, lots of paperwork, genotyping, sequencing, and analysis of samples.” – Caroline Lawhead

Nicci AvalonName: Nicci Avalon
Chapter: Delta Iota
Position: Program Manager
CMN Hospital: Akron Children’s Hospital

“I’ve had the great privilege to work with the new chapter at Kent State. I took them on a hospital tour about a year ago. I also acted as an alumna guard during their initiation. Most recently I served as a guest judge for their Model for Miracles fashion show which benefited CMNH and Akron Children’s Hospital. This first-time fundraiser netted $15,000!” – Nicci Avalon

Taylor DietrichName: Taylor Dietrich
Chapter: Lambda Theta
Position: Manager, Dance Marathon
CMN Hospital: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

“Through Dance Marathon you get to meet, interact and grow with families that are treated at your local children’s hospital – many of these kids and their families are still impacted by the hospital each day. When you raise money and awareness for such a cause, you are ensuring these kids are able to receive the best care possible, close to their home. Not only are you there to go through treatments and tests with them, but you are there as a symbol of hope – that you will continue to fight for them for however long they may need. It is these families that have had and will continue to have a personal affect on me, more so than any impact I could ever have on them.” – Taylor Dietrich

Melissa FannonName: Melissa Fannon
Chapter: Phi Eta
Position: Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
CMN Hospital: The Johns Hopkins Hospital

“I first became interested in the PICU at Hopkins after the ABC documentary “Hopkins” aired in the Summer of 2008. I was particularly drawn to one nurse who was featured in the show–she was one of the pediatric critical care transport nurses I thought to myself, “wow, that would be a really cool job.” – Melissa Fannon

Jenna CastleName: Jenna Castle
Chapter: Theta Zeta
Position: Director of Business Development, Marketing Team
CMN Hospital: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

“I volunteer weekly at my local local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. I volunteer in the hospital’s Family Resource Center, a library for families to learn more about their children’s diagnoses and get support. In this role, I have helped many families get the resources they need to come to terms with their diagnoses.” – Jenna Castle

Samantha D'Agostino Name: Samantha D’Agostino
Chapter: Alpha Nu
Position: Community Development Coordinator
CMN Hospital: Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

“My position focuses on Public Relations and Media Relations, but my favorite part of my job is my adviser position for The Miracle Board, Children’s Miracle Network’s Young Professional Group, as they plan Jacksonville’s City-wide Dance Marathon. It allows me to bring my favorite parts of my collegiate Dance Marathon experience with me in my post graduate career.” – Samantha D’Agostino

Mckenzie HarrisonName: McKenzie Harrison
Chapter: Alpha Gamma
Position: Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit
CMN Hospital: Children’s of Alabama

It was always my dream job to work at this hospital and I could not imagine a better place to work. My unit takes care of the sickest of the sick at this hospital and is often a very sad place to work, but the best thing about it is the change we get to see in these children.” – McKenzie Harrison
