Education & Phi Mu Chapter:
B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Gamma Lambda Chapter).
City, State of Residence:
I live in New York, NY, but I was raised in McLean, VA, just outside of Washington, D.C.
When children and young adults dream of being a part of the Olympic Games they immediately jump to the conclusion that they will be representing their country in one of the hundreds of different trials, but not for Caroline Engle. Caroline has the unique job and opportunity to represent our country and take part in the Olympic Games as the Social Media Manager for NBC!
“I’m responsible for the editorial strategy and implementation across all social media platforms for the Rio Olympics, and will manage the social media team during the Olympics in August.”
In looking at Caroline’s long list of accomplishments one seems to stand out above the rest; an Emmy award for her work on her coverage of the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games!
It is amazing to think that in a short time after graduating from UNC Chapel Hill that Caroline received such success. Her motto:
“You have to be your own advocate. At the end of the day you’re in charge of your own success.”
Outside of her huge accomplishments with NBC Caroline has even bigger goals she would like to tackle.
“My role model has always been Kathleen Kennedy, a film producer who is now president of Lucasfilm. I aspire to emulate her career by becoming a film producer and later head of a studio. But my ultimate goal is to win an Oscar for producing a film!”
When reflecting on her Phi Mu experience, Caroline is still amazed at what a group of strong women can accomplish and she is thankful to her chapter for sharing that insight with her. When she transferred from Tulane to UNC Chapel Hill the women went above and beyond to show her what sisterhood was all about.
