Chapter of the Month: Eta Sigma – University of California, Merced

There are 137 collegiate Phi Mu chapters, and each one is unique! While each campus cultivates a different Phi Mu experience, every member shares a bond with her sisters in her values of love, honor and truth.

Each month a chapter will be profiled to allow everyone in Phi Mu world to learn more about their sisters from other chapters.

Chapter: Eta Sigma

School: University of California, Merced

Year Founded: 2016

Chapter Size: 42

Describe a successful SisterhoodEvent: The most successful sisterhood event this semester was Sisterhood Retreat in North Fork, California! Sisters all piled into each other’s cars and road tripped to a cabin in the mountains. The chapter had sis-giving dinner, sang karaoke, had a gingerbread house making contest, and danced all night. At the end of the night, we bonded over sharing with one another what Phi Mu means to us.

Describe a successful chapter-hosted Philanthropy Event:  Our Miracles in the Out-PHIeld weeklong philanthropy was a big success this year. Our philanthropy chair, Elizabeth planned a whole week centered around helping the kids. We had different events throughout the week like, signing a Miracle Wall, Meet a Mu, pie a Phi, and a softball game. Overall we raised over $4,000 for CMN Hospitals with the help of everyone who participated!

Popular Social Function Theme: Boo Bash! This function was held around Halloween and sisters paired up with members from another organization and competed to see who had the best costume. It was a lot of fun!

Fun Fact: We are the newest Panhellenic organization on our campus.
