Chapter of the Month: Phi Nu Chapter – Rutgers University

There are 137 collegiate Phi Mu chapters, and each one is unique! While each campus cultivates a different Phi Mu experience, every member shares a bond with her sisters in her values of love, honor and truth.

Each month a chapter will be profiled to allow everyone in Phi Mu world to learn more about their sisters from other chapters.

Year Founded: 2014

Describe a successful Sisterhood Event:  The Sisterhood Chair planned a relaxation night at the house. We first had a discussion about mental health and dealing with stress and came up with ways we can work on that. Then we had massages, eyebrow threading, face masks and nail painting. It was definitely a great break from school work and a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with sisters!

Describe a successful chapter-hosted Philanthropy Event:  Our big Philanthropy Event is Casino Night. We have real vendors come in and teach our college community different games and activities. We exchange “Mu Money” for tickets that are then raffled off for the opportunity to win different prizes. A family from CMN Hospitals usually comes to explain where all the money we fundraise goes to and this year we were able to raise over $14,000!

Popular Social Function Theme: Every year our most popular function is the Carnation Ball. Sisters love having the opportunity to dress up in formal attire for a fun annual event!

Fun Fact:  The Phi Nu Chapter house is one of the oldest homes in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
