This spring, COVID-19 changed everything but what didn’t change was Phi Mu’s dedication to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Today, we are proud to highlight of two of our collegiate chapters, who did not let the pandemic stop their fundraising efforts. In this second installment, we are proud to feature the Kappa Chapter at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Supporting Local Hospital Needs: Kappa Chapter (University of Tennessee, Knoxville)

Earlier this summer, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital (ETCH) made a post asking for toy donations. Due to COVID-19, hospital staff was unable to properly sanitize all of the toys between patients, so they were looking for new toys to have available. And with that, the Kappa Chapter sprang into action to help the children of ETCH during the pandemic!

The chapter hosted a bingo fundraiser across their social media platforms to collect monetary donations from chapter members. In just four days, the chapter collected $900 for toys for the pediatric patients at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Several local chapter members met at Target to select toys for all age ranges and they delivered them to ETCH.

We are so proud of the women of Kappa Chapter and we appreciate all they do to #ChangeKidsHealth and #ChangeTheFuture for CMN Hospitals! We encourage all collegiate and alumnae chapters to think creatively during these challenging times – what philanthropy work can you do? We look forward to seeing how our members will continue to show their support for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
