This spring, COVID-19 changed everything but what didn’t change was Phi Mu’s dedication to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Today, we are proud to highlight of two of our collegiate chapters, who did not let the pandemic stop their fundraising efforts. In this first installment, we are proud to feature the Alpha Gamma Chapter at Samford University.

Kids Can’t Wait: Alpha Gamma Chapter (Samford University)

Although a planned spring philanthropy event was cancelled due to COVID-19, members of the Alpha Gamma Chapter still wanted to raise awareness for and serve Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, even from a physical distance. Knowing the influence of social media and how it can be a force for making connections, they decided host a 24-hour online campaign on April 16 called 24 Hours for CMNH. Throughout the day, members shared information and graphics from CMN Hospitals on multiple social media platforms. They were overwhelmed by the support they received from people across the country and they raised $4,686 in one day – exceeding their $4,000 goal.

In the past, the Alpha Gamma Chapter has hosted philanthropy events in support of Children’s of Alabama ranging from Nacho Average Philanthropy to Bonnamu to of service at Children’s for Samford Gives Back day.

We are so proud of the women of the Alpha Gamma Chapter and we appreciate all they do to #ChangeKidsHealth and #ChangeTheFuture for CMN Hospitals! We encourage all collegiate and alumnae chapters to think creatively during these challenging times – what philanthropy work can you do? We look forward to seeing how our members will continue to show their support for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
